U-Pack by ABF Freight

The Budget Option for Long-Distance Moves
U-Pack splits the difference between hiring full-service movers and renting a truck. You do the packing and loading; ABF Freight’s professional drivers handle the highway miles. This hybrid model works because ABF has been hauling freight for over 100 years and has 240+ service centers to route through.
You pick between ReloCubes (6×7×8-foot metal containers) or 28-foot trailer sections. Either way, you get three business days to load — no single-day rush — and you only pay for the space you actually use. Reserve a full trailer, fill half, pay for half.
Pricing vs. the Alternatives
A cross-country move through U-Pack typically costs $2,000 to $5,000. The same move with full-service movers? $4,000 to $10,000. No hidden fees, no fuel surcharges, no surprise line items. Transit times run 2–5 business days for most routes, and they guarantee delivery dates — something a lot of budget options can’t promise.
Coverage includes all 48 contiguous states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Basic valuation coverage is included, with optional Full Value Protection available.
Who Should Use U-Pack
If you’re physically able to load your own stuff and moving more than a few hundred miles, U-Pack is one of the best deals available. It works especially well for downsizers, work relocations, and college moves. For local moves or anyone who wants movers to do the packing, look elsewhere — U-Pack is built for distance, not for the labor side.
