Welcome to AskDoss. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website askdoss.com (the “Site”) operated by AskDoss (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s functionality or servers
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Site without our written permission
  • Reproduce, distribute, or modify Site content without authorization
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

Content and Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of AskDoss or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, or create derivative works from any content on this Site without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use such as printing a single copy of an article for your own reference.

Informational Purpose Only

The content on AskDoss is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute:

Directory Listing Services

AskDoss operates a business directory (“Directory”) that lists home service professionals, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, and related businesses. The following terms apply to business owners who claim or subscribe to a paid listing.

Listing Plans

We offer the following paid subscription plans for business listings:

  • Claimed Listing ($29/month): Your listing is indexed by search engines, displays a “Verified” badge, and includes a follow link to your website. You receive access to a business owner dashboard to manage your listing information.
  • Premium Listing ($79/month): Includes all Claimed features plus a “Featured” badge, priority placement in directory search results, and enhanced listing visibility.

Unclaimed (free) listings may appear in the directory but are not indexed by search engines, do not display verification badges, and include nofollow links.

Billing and Auto-Renewal

All paid listing subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize recurring monthly charges to the payment method you provide.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew each billing cycle unless canceled
  • You will be charged on the same date each month as your initial subscription date
  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email
  • Failed payments trigger a 7-day grace period during which your listing remains active
  • After the grace period, your listing will be deactivated until payment is resolved

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your listing subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your business owner dashboard. Upon cancellation:

  • Your listing remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period
  • Your listing reverts to unclaimed (free) status: removed from search engine indexing, badges removed, and links changed to nofollow
  • Your business information is retained in our directory in unclaimed state
  • You may resubscribe at any time to restore your listing

Verification Badges

Paid listing subscribers receive embeddable verification badges (“Badges”) for use on their own websites. Badge usage is subject to the following terms:

  • Badges may only be used on the website associated with the claimed listing
  • Badges must not be altered, modified, or used in a misleading manner
  • Upon cancellation or deactivation of your subscription, you must remove all AskDoss badges from your website within 7 days
  • We reserve the right to revoke badge access for misuse or Terms violations
  • Badges are dynamically verified — expired or revoked badges will display a “Not Verified” fallback automatically

Listing Content and Moderation

Business owners are responsible for the accuracy of information submitted for their listings. You agree that:

  • All submitted business information is truthful and accurate
  • You have the authority to represent the listed business
  • You will not submit misleading, defamatory, or illegal content
  • We reserve the right to review, modify, or remove listing content that violates these Terms
  • Listings flagged for suspicious content may be placed in a moderation queue pending review

Business Owner Accounts

When you claim a listing, a business owner account is automatically created using the email address you provide during checkout. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

AskDoss contains affiliate links and advertising content. When you click on an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action (such as a purchase or sign-up), we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content or recommendations. However, compensation may affect the order in which products or services appear on our Site. We clearly disclose affiliate relationships in accordance with FTC guidelines.

Paid partner cards inside our articles are labelled as paid placements on the card itself. Our full affiliate and partner disclosure sets out how commission works, what is labelled, and what commission does not affect.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services. These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for:

  • The content, accuracy, or opinions expressed on third-party sites
  • The privacy practices or security of third-party sites
  • Any products, services, or transactions conducted through third-party sites

User Submissions

If you submit content to us (such as comments, feedback, or contact form messages), you grant AskDoss a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with operating and improving the Site.

You represent that any content you submit does not violate the rights of any third party and does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable material.

Trademark

“AskDoss,” the AskDoss logo, and all related names, logos, and slogans are trademarks of AskDoss. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted through our Badge program for active paid subscribers. Any unauthorized use of our trademarks may constitute a violation of trademark law.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

WITH RESPECT TO DIRECTORY LISTINGS: WE DO NOT VERIFY, ENDORSE, OR GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR LEGALITY OF ANY LISTED BUSINESS, THE TRUTH OR ACCURACY OF LISTING CONTENT, OR THE ABILITY OF LISTED BUSINESSES TO PERFORM THEIR SERVICES.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASKDOSS AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Reliance on any information provided on the Site
  • Any actions taken based on Site content
  • Unauthorized access to your data or transmissions
  • Any dispute between you and a business listed in our Directory

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AskDoss, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
